The Outer Banks has been open for a few weeks now for vacationers, but what does that look like? Highway 12 is busy and beach access parking spots are full, but several other things are a little different. Currently the Outer Banks is in phase two of lifting Covid-19 restrictions, also known as the “Safer at Home” phase.

Outer Banks Restaurants

Restaurants started opening up with curbside pickup and carryout orders only. As the state opened up into phase two, outdoor seating 6′ away became a new option at most dining locations. Currently many businesses are open at 50% capacity for indoor seating with takeout still available and encouraged. Restaurants have taken extra sanitary precautions and you’ll see employees wearing masks with smiles behind them. The Beachside Bistro is open at 50% capacity with employees masked and ready to serve you safely in our oceanfront restaurant.

Retail

Most retail is open for business. Customers are encouraged to practice social distancing while shopping and wearing masks to protect you and others.

Changes at The Sea Ranch Resort

  • Checkout Process

The Sea Ranch Resort has instilled a few new normals to minimize contact and increase social distancing measures for our guest and staff safety. Typically our checkout process includes visiting the front desk, however now guests can simply call the front desk to check out from their room and leave keys in the room.

  • Room Service

What’s not to love about room service?! We have added room service to your Sea Ranch Resort experience. Call us with your requests and we will deliver to your room for your convenience. Who doesn’t like breakfast in bed with an ocean view??

  • Room Cleaning

Once you check in to your room the room is yours only and no member of the Sea Ranch Resort will enter until your departure. This means there won’t be any stay over cleans in order to minimize contact.

Beach chairs and umbrella

When visiting the OBX, know that indoor entertainment businesses such as the bowling alley and movie theaters are still closed along with gyms and most nighttime bar scenes. Most importantly though the Outer Banks beaches are open and ready to welcome you! Just remember to practice the three W’s: Wear a face covering, Wash your hands often, and Wait 6′ apart. Phase three will be sure to bring more changes, so stay up to date with Dare Co updates here.

The Sea Ranch Resort is on the Outer Banks in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Our oceanfront location is conveniently located near many Outer Banks Restaurants and retail locations.
