Spring is here!
Warmer temperatures have arrived and with that comes some fun outdoor events for all ages. We are lucky enough to be in a spot that features nature, ocean and great air to make the Outer Banks a great destination to visit. Here are a few Spring Events on the Outer Banks for 2021 to attend:
March Events
St Patrick’s Day Weekend Beer Mile
1 Mile Beer Run Limit
100 participants
2 PM Saturday, March 13th, 2021
Join the crew from the Brewing Station for this 21 and older social run – a Leprechaun-themed mile. Beer will be a big part of this backyard party and a t-shirt is included. The quickest male and female will be awarded prizes! Each beverage is 10 ounces and each run is one-quarter mile. Wear your best costume, because there will be a competition for the standouts. You can register late and check-in from 1 PM to 1:45 PM on Saturday, March 13.
March 24
Experience the living history of turn-of-the-century Manteo with a walking tour. Local guides will take you for an evening walk through the charming streets of Manteo on Roanoke Island. You will be treated to stories from the past 400 years of local history and lore. Topics will include the Lost Colony, pirates, the underground railroad and the real Mayberry that inspired the Andy Griffith Show.
April Events
April 1-30
Elizabethan Gardens will host the annual Butterfly Festival at the John White Butterfly Center. The butterfly house will be the centerpiece of events to celebrate the return of our painted-winged friends. The schedule is still to be determined but information can be found on the Elizabethan Gardens website.
April 2 and 3
10 AM – 4 PM
Kick-off National Kite Month with Kitty Hawk Kites at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. The massive 30-100 foot kites will take your breath away. They are a sight to behold and can be seen from miles away. Don’t forget to stop by the Kitty Hawk Kites store to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, and enjoy a kid’s Easter egg hunt! The whole family will enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the sand dune.
April 3
9 AM – 4 PM
Our friends at the Elizabethan Gardens are at it again with another spring event. This Outer Banks tradition is perfect for the family. Kids and families can find prize-filled eggs in our scavenger hunt through the ornate gardens. This event is a time-entry event that can only be purchased online. There is a limit to 50 guests at each entry time.
The Sea Ranch Resort is a cherished Outer Banks landmark located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills. We have been serving visitors to the Outer Banks for decades and are close to many attractions in the area.
