Fireworks will happen in Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manteo and Avon

We are so excited that fireworks are happening on the Outer Banks this summer! Many of you are wondering where to watch the fireworks and which ones you should watch. All of the fireworks displays listed below are definitely worth watching. If you haven’t ever watched fireworks here at the beach, you are in for a real treat. Spending time with family and friends watching the night sky lit up by the sizzle, crack and pop of fireworks over the ocean is inspiring. 

Here is information on the primary fireworks displays on the Outer Banks for Sea Ranch Resort Guests:

Kill Devil Hills:

The beautiful Avalon pier in Kill Devil Hills is the location of this delightful fireworks display. There is plenty of room on the beach to watch the fireworks being shot off the end of the pier. Sponsored by the Town of Kill Devil Hills, this is very close to the Sea Ranch and loved by visitors and locals alike.

First off, if you have never visited Manteo, you will love the charm of this village. The Fourth of July event begins at 3PM by the Old Courthouse with the national anthem and a few special guests. There will be contests and games for the whole family as well. Music starts at 4:30 and will go until the fireworks begin at dark (around 9PM). Bring the family and watch the “shooting stars” over Shallowbag Bay!

The town of Nags Head will be shooting their fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean on July 4th near milepost 11.5, which is close to Jockey’s Ridge state park. You can actually watch the fireworks from Jockey’s Ridge, or use one of the many beach accesses to watch them. The link above will give you a list of which beach accesses are recommended and where parking is. Fireworks start at 9:25PM and have a rain date of July 5 (just in case!).

Avon Fireworks:

Time:9:15 PM to 9:45 PM“Fireworks at the Beach ” is the name given to this Independence day celebration on Hatteras Island. Fireworks begin around 9:15 PM and will launch from the end of the Avon Pier. The event will even have it’s own radio show, with Radio Hatteras playing patriotic music from 9 to 10 PM.
